The Non-Certified Radiological Technician (NCT) Training program design is a composite of the Texas Administrative Code Statutory requirements, best practices identified for radiology technicians by the American Society of Radiological Technologist (ASRT), and JB Imaging Consultants executive James Benitez’s tenured forty-eight years of professional experiences in radiological imaging services.
The key attribute of this NCT Training Program Design is that students would receive 124 hours of radiologic education but will have thorough clinical guidance and ongoing competency evaluations solidifying confidence in their Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to operate an X-ray system safely on clients and in protection of self-exposure to radiation.
Programs for dual credentialling of health care professionals with certifications as Medical Assistants, Nursing Assistants, etc. may receive up to sixty-hours of program credits for courses already taken.

The NCT Classroom .
- JB Imaging Consultants’ Comprehensive Radiological Digital Computer Simulator provides visual X-rays of Radiographic Anatomical Digital Images.
- Each student practices radiographic Clinical anatomical positioning & formulating x-ray exposure techniques on a non-radiation X-ray system in the classroom.
- The NCT Instructor scores each Student’s exam assessing clinical positioning competency.
Clinical Radiographic Anatomical Competency Levels
Level 1-No experience.
Level 2-Minimal experience-requires supervision/assistance.
Level 3-Moderately experienced requires Initial review, then performs independently.
Level 4-Very experienced proficient, no review or supervision required.
Level 5-Expereinced complete ability to work independently.
The NCT Training Program would consist of seven core courses of education and a clinical hands-on radiographic anatomical positioning course with each event evaluated and scored for clinical competency. A sample of the “Clinical Radiographic Anatomical Competency Levels” scoring is
provided in the left menu table on this page.
The seven core course areas and course descriptions are:
1. Humanities: This course provides the student with basic knowledge on handling clients in a humane and compassionate manner while adhering to Federal/State Medical Diagnostic Radiation Safety, and Protocols for positioning a client for Radiation Imaging services.
2. Information Systems: This course provides the student with basic knowledge of the digital technologies (e.g., Picture Archive Computer System) used in delivering diagnostic medical radiological services and safe equipment usages.
3. Social Sciences: This course provides the student with knowledge of working in the health care arena among multiple medical disciplines as an active treatment team member. The trained radiology professional may be in leadership roles within the treatment team representing information on the various types of radiographic imaging techniques, procedures, and radiation safety and protocols.
4. Ethics and Law in Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences and Health Care: This course provides thorough knowledge on Federal/State rules, regulations and statutes that oversee the use of medical radiation services in the health care industry. The student’s role in compliance with these rules and regulations has a direct impact on delivering safety radiation services to patients and self-exposure.
5. Radiologic Procedures: This course consists of an educational and clinical coursework for the student to practice anatomical positioning techniques, mock medical imaging services while complying with radiation safety processes and protocols with a mock client, and communication with a mock treatment team on the diagnostic medical radiological service delivered.
6. Image Production and Quality Control of Imaging Equipment and Accessories: This course consists of the student learning the correct handling and management of diagnostic medical radiation digital equipment and image productions following standards for ensuring quality control measures are followed for successful diagnostic imaging outcomes.
7. Human Anatomy and Physiology: This course consists of the complete anatomical structure of the Human body and their associated physiology of the key anatomical parts pertinent to radiographic imaging services.
** Clinical Anatomical Positioning Course with Computer Simulator and Workbook: there are seven anatomical series with 75 anatomical positioning protocols that will be introduced to the student . Utilizing all protocols, and processes including adherence to all aspects of radiation safety the student will be evaluated on each clinical event and scored on level of competency for the procedure performed and provided feedback for improvement and skill development.
